The Mancunian Way Walking Tour is organised by Manchester Metropolitan University's Dr Steve Millington and Dr Julian Holloway, and Maureen Ward of The Manchester Modernist Society. The walking tour will offer an unconventional perspective on the geographical and cultural impact of the Mancunian Way on the city of Manchester and its inhabitants.This tour is free and will appeal particularly to people who are new to Manchester, or anyone with an interest in cities, local history, planning, transport or architecture.
Starting at 1pm, the tour will begin with a short introductory presentation at Manchester Metropolitan University, followed by the walk itself which will last approximately 2-3 hours.
The route is accessible, although there are some uneven surfaces. Participants are reminded to wear sensible footwear, prepare adequately for prevailing weather conditions, and take adequate care in what is a busy roadside environment.

1pm- meet in Room E0.05 (ground floor) John Dalton Building (Oxford Road, M1 5GD). Use the main entrance on Oxford Road (virtually opposite the BBC)
1.30pm - walking tour commences
4pm - end of tour.
